SRK-Shirish brawl

Kunder says he has no intention of filing FIR against SRK

Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan is upset about a reported brawl between her friend Shah Rukh Khan and her husband Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutt’s party for Agneepath at club Aurus.

Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem and that it means the person who is hitting has either a professional or personal crisis going on. It saddens me to see him doing the same,” Farah said in an official statement.

“Thanks for all your concern and wishes. Contrary to rumours, we have no intention of filing an FIR or police complaint,” tweeted Kunder.

Apparently, at around 4.30am, Shah Rukh entered the venue straight after the Filmfare Awards with three of his bodyguards.

“We saw SRK enter. Then we saw him head towards Shirish from behind the director. SRK pulled Shirish down to the ground by his long hair. We were all shocked. We had never seen SRK behave this way before,” said an eyewitness.

“Before anyone could react, Baba Dewan, the owner of Aurus, intervened. SRK told Dewan to keep out. Dewan said the place belonged to him and he must intervene. The fight would’ve been prolonged had Sanjay Dutt not pulled SRK away.”

The Jaan-E-Mann director reportedly left the party with a swollen face. The party also came to an end and Dutt and SRK left with the owner of the club soon after.

Farah Khan: Shah Rukh beat up my husband at Sanjay Dutt’s party

It is being said that SRK and his three bodyguards attacked Shirish Kunder over a tweet

Clearly, we now know Bollywood looks into its own backyard for inspiration to churn out potboilers like clockwork.

With a plotline that’s fit for a box office winner, superstar Shah Rukh Khan takes the lead with accusations flying that he slapped one-time friend and choreographer/director Farah Khan’s husband at a party last evening.

And this is not just any party, mind you, but that of actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been celebrating of late for the success of his film “Agneepath”.

Farah’s husband, Shrish Kunder (who is also a film director), has kept mum on the subject so far, as has Shah Rukh himself. But the feisty Farah spilled the beans to Indian media outlet, Headlines Today, saying: “Shirish, my husband, was beaten up by Shah Rukh and his three bodyguards in Sanjay Dutt’s party.

“Shah Rukh asked Shirish why he had tweeted against him... There was no provocation from our side. He had screamed at Shirish telling him that he would destroy me as well.”

Back in October, Kunder had tweeted about Shah Rukh Khan’s “Ra.One”, saying: “I just heard a 150 Cr firework fizzle.”

The film in question was rumoured to have a budget of Rs1.5 billion.

Farah Khan also texted reporters according to Hindustan Times, saying: “Shahrukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem, and that it means the person who’s hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on. It saddens me to see him doing the same (sic).”

It is being said that Dutt had to intervene and finally escorted Shah Rukh out.

The Twitter world erupted as soon as news broke, with news sites and fans wondering what the fuss was all about. It wasn’t long before, both Farah Khan and Shrish Kunder were trending on the Indian microblogging site, with rumours flying over what really happened.

Shiv Aroor said online: “It was over a tweet! @iamsrk thrashes @thefarahkhan’s husband @shirishkunder for tweeting something derisive against SRK. #HeadlinesToday [sic].”

However, Ankit Sawant tweeted another tale, saying: “So @IBNLiveRealtime claims that @iamsrk and #SanjayDutt both slapped #ShirishKunder and he also misbehaved with a girl and Manyata (Dutt’s wife).”

But most didn’t seem to care about the drama, preferring to use this moment to throw in some tongue‘n’cheek comments, with MTV India leading the way.
The music and entertainment channel tweeted: “Dear Shirish Kunder, Kha.One [eat one: a play on SRK’s film, “Ra.One”] Regards, Shah Rukh Khan.”

Another tweet followed by the channel, saying: “Shah Rukh Khan finally has the biggest 'hit' of 2012 thanks to Shirish Kunder. #Tamacha [slap].”

Bollywood Gandu tweeted: “So many people are happy that @iamsrk slapped @ShirishKunder. It's wrong. We should never condone violence against women.”
Meanwhile, Chamatkari Patrakar said: “Apparently @ShirishKunder was beaten up by @iamsrk and his 3 guards at Sanju Baba’s party. Looks like he is still frustrated about Ra-One.”

Looks like the Farah-Shah Rukh war will continue in 2012 for now.

Shah Rukh Khan -‘Telephones have numbers, not actors’

Why Shah Rukh Khan is not part of the numbers game in Bollywood

Shah Rukh Khan, who bagged two awards at the Screen awards recently, is happy not only for himself but also for his kids.

“It feels nice to win awards. There is a sense of competition with my kids because they win prizes for racing, taekwondo, riding etc. So I’ll go home and show my kids that even I have won two awards,” the 46-year-old actor said.

Khan bagged popular choice best actor for Don 2: The King Is Back and best jodi award for his pairing with Priyanka Chopra.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh had two releases this year and both the films - Ra.One and Don 2 - crossed the Rs100 crore mark at the box office.

He says he does not work for money and added: “I understand the rupees and crores less and you understand it even lesser. Please don’t ask me questions on crores and stuff like that. I have been working hard for 20 years and only work to make the public happy.

“Hopefully, this year too I’ll work with the same motive and not count numbers. Telephones have numbers and not actors (or) producers.”

SRK is currently working in Yash Chopra’s next untitled film with Katrina Kaif. He is also co-producing Student Of the Year with Karan Johar.
